Jose is a small dog designed to have a lot of fur and a tiny body. However when they crossed a pomeranian and a chihuahua they neglected to think it through. Both breeds have tiny mouths and teeth and tiny capacity for swallowing so they make choking noises a lot. Jose does it when he gets excited . They have difficulty taking a normal size bite of anything. They can even if they are particularly unfortunate, break their jaw when eating something very hard.
Jose is very overweight since he should weigh about six pounds and currently weighs thirteen. He is a picky eater. However, he is very very intelligent. He is also sweet natured and lets me doctor him if I need to. He quickly learned the things that made him a good companion and I think he probably knows at least a hundred words.
He is probably the last dog we will ever have but if I were going to get another one, I think it would be a Yorkshire terrier. We have had several and they are sweet spunky little dogs. They are also very hardy and don't get sick a lot. When you get a dog that is pure bred you know what characteristics are common to the breed and I don't think cross breeding is a good idea
although we have had many many Heinz fifty sevens who excelled. Jose certainly became a family member and hes
learned to bark when the door bell rings or when he sees something out of the ordinary outside. He also plays with toys which is something no dog of ours has ever done. His favorite is a little brown dog.
Ted and I both love him to pieces. He is cuddley like a cat and my daughter says he has all the best features of
both. We are as thankful to have him as he is for being
rescued.
