Cycles

Now that I am in the winter of my life, I think of the
naive child that I used to be and how she is still there
only layered over with decades of life experience. I
cherish the inner child.

Spring brings rebirth and renewal and I am so glad to see
it coming. The jonquils are blooming. Foals and calves
are being born and we watch them frolicking in fields
along the road.

It is time to think of gardens and fresh vegetables and
green grass. The Ajuga is rearing it's bright blue head
and I love looking it after our drab and cold season.

If we didn't have mirrors and cameras and calendars, we'd never know we are getting old.

No, we would never know if the evidence didn't confront us every day via
the the mirror.

When anyone asks why my hair is so long I tell them that I'm making amends to my inner child. Childhood was hell with acne and what could have been a cool head of hair had I been willing to let it be what it is instead of trying to make it fall the way I thought it should be. The picture you see on the left (and it is directly to my left right now) is the real me.

The real me is still slender with nice boobs and nothing sagging. I get
what you mean. Do keep the long hair, it becomes you!

Winter of life... Interesting. I don't like to think of anyone being close to the end but I suppose it's a reality the lucky ones face! Anyways, hope you and your family are all doing ok.

Life sucks right now with Bobby and Ted sick all the time but I am staying upbeat for them and the rest of my family. I am so grateful
for health and mobility.

You have the soul of a poet. I will spend some time imagining we knew each other then and our inner selves of long ago will share some playful times. (And lick each others wounds over bad decisions.)

It would have been fun to have known you in our salad days. I made so
many bad decisions but life has been good for the most part and I still
love to laugh. We could have had hilarious moments.
