Craziness

It is hard to imagine that the heat is also fueling mass rage to the degree that we are seeing it. The gun lobby bears a lot of responsibility for these dead babies that get caught in the cross fire and all the other mass shootings that take the lives of innocent people. I cannot even pretend to understand it. Here at home, I am dog sitting and it is no easy task. Ellie is having some boards replaced on her house and since Mandy barks constantly, she and Penny are here for the duration. It is sheer chaos here with dogs going everywhere I go and usurping all of Jose's favorite spots. At present, Mandy is under the desk and Jose is under my feet. Penny probably went back to bed with Ted. Ted is not very well and is on a strange, self imposed diet of Ensure and jello so we have both lost a lot of weight with me not cooking much...understand I am not complaining. Ted has lost two of his brothers in the last two months. It was a blessing in both cases because they were sick for a long time. My poor sister in law is a registered nurse and she had been caring for her husband for nearly a year. He had dementia, cancer and Parkinson's disease. The other brother died from liver disease, he was an alcoholic and it was not pretty. I will really miss David. He was like a brother to me and we enjoyed going places with them. I am glad that I got to tell him I loved him like a brother while he was still in his right mind. We vacationed together a lot. He was just two years younger than Ted and they were close although not as close as we are in my family. We will be home on the fourth of July but will go to my Sister's house on the fifth. I wish you all a happy celebration and a safe one. Be well.

Hi dear Jeri, trying to catch up on your posts since I am not being notified. I am so sorry to hear about Ted's brothers. And the vultures in a family that jump in and cheat everyone are people Ed has to contend with every time one of his wareds passes. We just lost Rose, 96, a Phillipina, very dear to us. We included her in our holiday plans. She had Covid. One of her daughters was trying to cheat her a while ago but Ed put a stop to it. Persuaded her to sell her house, that was in bad shape, and go into assisted living. She did and learned to love it, made lots of friends. The

I sent them home for the night because they were waking us up at 3 a.m.
sticking their tongues in our ears. they will be back this morning. I
feel like the Jane Goodall of dogs instead of primates.

It seems as if a lot of us are in a downturn, all for different reasons. So sorry to hear about Ted’s brothers. Ted’s weird diet may not be all that horrible, at least he’s getting some protein and calories. (But yuck!) My sister’s husband is suffering from depression once again, my yard guy had a work accident, and I am weak and my brain is mush. I started trying to memorize countries of the world to test my memory, it was so bad. I know just about all of Africa, so the brain actually does work, it seems. I think we need to go shopping or on a short, easy daytrip that takes no planning -- and then a nap on some very squishy soft pillows.

That sounds like a perfect idea for these hot summer days accompanied by a tall glass of iced tea.

Maybe the dogs will settle down by the time they're ready to go home.
