Construction Woes

My house is a mess with molding stacked in the guest room
and chaos reigning everywhere. I have painted and gotten
paint in my hair. I have carried out trash and filled the
dumpsters and argued with Ted.

I am so anxious for this to be over and to get on with my
life. I keep telling myself you can't make an omelet without
breaking eggs and to keep my eye on the future but it is
hard for an old girl like me.

We haven't been painted since we got this house in 2002. It's time, but we procrastinate. I think things, including us, should never need paint nor grow old. That's final.

So true. I painted all the rooms that I could that don't have wall paper
when we moved in here and it was a chore. I don't plan to do it again.

I understand and sympathize. My home interior painting projects always started with great hope and, glory, I was careful, and after taping and protective papering, it never quite went as fast as I imagined it should. And then there were the paint dropsies and clean-up mishaps. Eventually it looked good, and I was glad I did it. Sending you a ((( HUG )))....

It is so worth it when you finally finish but I hate every minute of it.
Now that the kitchen is done, it is a real pleasure to look at.

No matter how careful I plan to be when I'm painting, I'll end up touching the wet wall with my hair, the cuff of my shirt, and the knee of my pants. And I always slop some big gobs of paint onto the floor, so the one thing I do make sure of is putting down a drop cloth, but I seldom change into special painting clothes, and am always sorry: I'm just positive that for once I won't get it on me.

I always wear painting clothes but seldom wear a plastic bonnet and it
drips in my hair. I think that I have it all out now.
