Birthday Shopping

I picked the girls up at twelve for their promised lunch and
shopping. They chose the Golden Corral for lunch which was
a bit dismaying because Adrienne is going to get heavy if she
doesn't slow down. She had two plates of all meat with a
side of heaped up mashed potatoes followed by cookies for
dessert. That girl is a carnivore. I cannot remember her
ever eating a vegetable. Not healthy! She will have to
grapple with the family curse which is an appetite from hell
and fatness. I am not counting potato as a vegetable. God
knows she has a weakness for them!

She had fifty dollars from me to spend. We went to Best Buy,
Target and Walmart in that order. She bought a Scrabble game
at Walmart and found nothing at the other stores. Ashley got
a doll for her unbirthday present and I gave the rest of the
money to Adrienne to spend another time. All of this took until three to accomplish and since I requested that we walk
in the mall we worked a little lunch off.

My computer just scrambled my post up but I am going to
post it anyway.

After we got through, I picked up some of my tile. I will
have to go back for the rest and some isn't in yet which
is dismaying because we had planned to start in the bathroom. Steve said he could probably make it by the middle of the week. I really hate home repairs and remodel.

Bobby is beginning to really suffer from the chemo. He looks as handsome as he did when he was young which is
amazing and he hasn't lost his hair yet. Like most mothers,
I wish that I could do it for him. It is frustrating because he gets worse with each treatment. He missed his
first day of work Wed. I don't know how he keeps going.
Please keep him in your thoughts, prayers, and light candles
for him. I believe in a collective consciousness and the
power of positive thinking.

I have great hope for Bobby... he is your son and look at all the resilience and fortitude you stocked his genes with! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Happy Easter!

A bouquet of prayers is always blooming for your Bobby, and a send support to you. I understand. Sending hope and positive thoughts and patience.

Thank you dear Marta.

It is so difficult to know Bobby is in distress. Of course, he is in my thoughts. As are you. I am concerned that Adrienne is going to get to a point in her weight where undoing it is going to take a resolve she has not learned. I recommend enrolling her in a gym class or a dance class, anything aerobic, that will force her to move. I used to say that I danced to sustain my appetite. Perhaps some charismatic dance teacher you could introduce her to will move her to make an effort. Trust me, not doing anything about her, will not serve her well. Show her pix of obese children -- anything to get her attention.

There are so many obese children and I marvel at the number when I pick
Adrienne up at school. She is not there yet but her exercise needs to
increase now. She likes to swim so maybe I can encourage her to do more
of that.

sorry to hear Bobby is starting to feel crappy from the chemo. You are all certainly in my thoughts... And I hope he's better than ever soon.
Home repairs. We will be doing them soon enough I think!

I have taken up the laminate floor and base boards and waiting for Steve is
getting on my nerves. The realtors keep him busy but he is good.

I'm not a big fan of house repair either, although I'm usually satisfied with the results. The second crew is set to start the siding as soon as it arrives, and the only good part about that is that they need to come inside for very little work. Now that I'm using the water outside more often, I noticed yesterday that the no-freeze faucet that the last guy installed is leaking. Unfortuantely he's already been paid in full, but he left a ladder behind the house, so I'll see him again.

I find it hard to be in the torn up state. Most of what I can do is done.

well yes we will keep Bobby in our thoughts. She is quiet an eater that one.Better keep tab on this. This is not good for her at that age.Sounds that she is eating on her nerve?as you know nervous children eat a lot and not keeping themselves busy.Outside of that you are a brave woman to go through with this.Enjoy Easter.

I know Fredo. Adrienne can consume vast quantities of meat and chicken and
gravy and mashed potatoes. Her parents are very aware of this and try to
slow her down.
