Bobby started chemo yesterday and went right on to work. I
think he is pushing himself to hard and he isn't eating well,
so naturally he is anemic and tired.
I enjoyed my book club. We had some really stimulating
discussions and it was a lot of fun. I will certainly go
next month. Most everyone was single and all were women.
Ted is going to get a walker today. He doesn't need it yet,
but the Dr. feels he should have it for balance and stability
and he will get out more if he doesn't fear falling. He
helped me carry in groceries yesterday and fell when he got
the last load.
Aldi's had gorgeous tropical plants yesterday and I got two
and put them in the dining room until I can put them on
the back porch. The winter has been so mild that I have
been able to keep some plants in the garage and just put them outside on mild and sunny days.
Pat, my neighbor, is having knee surgery today. She said it
would just be overnight. Her husband is a lousy cook so I
am going to take her a lasagna and a loaf of banana bread.
Her bedrooms are all upstairs so I can't imagine how she
plans to get up there with knee replacement and no physical
therapy even if it has improved so much that one can come
home the next day. Surely she will sleep downstairs on a
couch. She said the last time he was sick he gave her malt
o meal for breakfast without cooking it. It was very like
eating sand with sugar and cream. When I had knee replacement surgery, I was in rehab for well over a week but
then that was 22 years ago.
Yesterday was one of those days you love. Seventy four
degrees and no wind. The Jonquils are in full bloom.
