Sometimes

Sometimes you just can't help feeling thoroughly bored. It is Sunday morning and Ted and I have wreaked havoc on our stomachs with too much acid from garden fresh tomatoes. They are so good, it is almost worth it. He has gone to bed to nurse his tummy and Jose and I are up looking for something interesting to do. I have not been to the library because a friend gave me all of her John Grisham novels. My favorite was THE KING OF TORTS. As I am sure I have told you my third marriage was to a lawyer. It felt just like being there again. I enjoyed him intellectually but his morals and ethics were lacking. when I divorced him, I felt like I had escaped from a dark cave. Incidentally, he is very rich. I am still poor. I watched a little HGTV and the waste horrifies me. They tear up so much that could be adapted or reused. The results are always the same old same old..open concept. I want some privacy in my kitchen and a simple galley kitchen suits me fine. I want a spacious living room, a separate dining room and large bed rooms, big enough for large closets and nice bathrooms. I do not find refrigerators and stoves attractive. I guess that is why I like my old house from the fifties although I am beginning to wonder why ten years ago, we did not buy a smaller house. However this one came equipped with grab bars and other modifications that we need. I am grateful. It is time to change out the summer wreath for the autumn one altho is is still 90 degrees every day.

It is hard to imagine you in a different house. My favorite is the spacious family room with that wonderful couch. I love that couch so much. It goes perfectly in there - I could never pull it off.

I don't really want a smaller house, I just need someone to help clean. I priced housework for seniors and it was 30 an hour. that is far more
than I made with a masters degree. I have a friend who quit teaching and
said she made far more money cleaning houses. That is a sad commentary on our values isn't it?

That's pretty wild, I had no idea you were married that many times. So, if you named their vocations -- like Tinker, tailor, lawyer, spy, what would that sound like?

NO 1 Engineer 2. Sales mgr for a large firm 3.attorney 4, business owner. and there won't be a number five!! number l and number 2 have passed away. Number 3 is too mean to die and number four is made of a
lasting fabric.

Holy crap! That is hot for almost October!
I liked everything about my house although it's my first ranch. It's not possible to go to any side rooms from the kitchen without passing through the living room but that's no big deal. It doesn't have a dining room either but that never bothered my since the kitchen is so large. It has one of those little red lights by the basement door to show that the lights are on in the basement. So many things reminded my of childhood and the house is the same age as me. It even came with a robin's egg blue washing machine. The copper colored fridge and stove had to go and every room needed paint, but that was ok too.

We put down black and white tile in the kitchen, an additional sink and new tile in one bathroom, i re painted every room and we replaced the carpet...and I wish we had opted for hardwood. Also new travertine floor
in the master bath. I guess you have to adapt your surroundings to your taste. Several years ago I re grouted the bathroom tile in the guest bath but I am beyond such chores now. I am a champion of dining
rooms, but I still entertain a lot.

Yum tomatoes! I’d think it was worth it as well.
Hope ya found something fun to do today.
I adore HGTV but I have to laugh when people walk through a perfectly fine house and say all the things that have to change
Our house is not open concept (split level straight out of the 70’s!) but I kind of like the separate rooms.

I like separate rooms and love having a dining room. I wanted one all my life and ten years ago, I got my hearts desire. I like entertaining and there have been a lot of good times in there, with both family and friends.

I was married to Jay for 37 years and have been married to Ed for 23. How the time flies. When Ed and I were first together, he said he would never marry again, if he did it wouldn't be to me, and he would never live in Florida. I said, "fine".

Ed probably has no realization that he would later eat his words. Ted started proposing after our third date. I told him no for nearly a year
because of the age difference. After a while, it really didn't matter.

I like open concept. Last night, Ed and I watched a bio pic of the Spencer family (Princess Diana's family). They live in a centuries old estate called Althorp -- something like 400 rooms and I wondered what it might be like to live there and walk around with a map so you wouldn't get lost and could find your way to one of the many, many bathrooms. Diana's brother Charles manages it. He has an appealing presence. I can't imagine getting sick from garden fresh tomatoes. I love them. So, Ted is your 4th? You have stamina!

I suppose you would get used to 400 rooms if you grew up there. can you imagine how the servants would get lost! Yes, I do have stamina but Ted
will be the last. We will soon chalk up 35 years...he was never able to last in his two previous marriages either. We got a big laugh when the lawyer called me recently to ask me whether or not I was single or
married.
