Visitors, Cont.

Okay, the photo did post. Anyway, I drove closer to look, and it was definitely sea gulls. With no sea in sight. I opened a container of pasta I'd just bought and flung a couple of pieces out the window. After some hesitation, they grabbed these and friends of their started gathering.

I tossed out more, and hurriedly rolled the window up since they were getting excited. I wish I'd taken more pictures because they were so big and pretty. And I wish I'd given them the whole container of food since it seemed like they were way off course and it would take them some time before they got back to where they should be.

I live 40-45 miles from Lake Erie. When the spring and summer storms rake the lake, our school yards are full of seagulls.

Okay, question on other post answered. You think the big wind blew them way off course? I love seagulls. We have them, plus a lot of the big ones -- pelicans, egrets, etc. Saw a woods stork while I was out biking. That is one big bird. Must have been two feet in height. Usually there are several in a bunch, but this guy was alone.

I noticed a huge flock of sea gulls in the highschool parking lot. The
nearest ocean is the gulf. Guess when they are hungry, they search out new
food sources.

Mine! Mine! Mine! We have seagulls here in Colorado, usually when the fields are plowed and the earthworms are turned up. There is a monument to the seagull in Salt Lake City because they came in and ate all the crickets that were plaguing the state. But it really is neat to hear their calls - I was at Home Depot and looked around for deep sea fishing boats.
