Some items in the news that Mike (who is a voracious and fast reader) told me, that I hadn’t seen at first:
Mike Pence’s wife and kids were in the Capitol Building at the time it was breached, and of course he himself was threatened by rioters.
The social media site Parler has been downloaded, possibly by FBI or other investigative entities, who would certainly be checking every person’s use of it and cross-checking with people arrested at the Capitol, to find any incriminating statements. (Parler is where many Republicans went after being blocked by Twitter, or if they were angry with Twitter.)
Stripe, the financial processor of Trump’s campaign donations, has quit the job of processing their funds. The company that sent out his fundraising emails has also quit.
If Trump is voted guilty of impeachable offenses, Congress has the power to take away his pension and his security detail.

My state’s Republican-majority legislature has refused to seat the state senator I voted for, who won. They are refusing to accept the vote results. The Republicans improperly took over the state session, forcing out the Lt. Governor who is supposed to lead it. I think I need to start writing letters; the national scene has had a lot of us obsessed.
This business of refusing to seat elected state senators is very disturbing. NY is democratic so we don't have this problem and the other states don't get any play.
At least trump found out that he can't count on the police and military to assist in his coup.
