Supreme Court Decisions Today

If I were a certain Floridian, I guess I'd be fulminating. But since I'm not, I'm ...expostulating. My mom would've been all riled up.

So, Supreme Court justices: I take it the elimination of the 35-foot buffer zone at women's clinics means that all or most buffer zones must be eliminated in the cause of free speech.

Hey! That must mean that anytime a political figure comes to town and gives a speech, and you're a protestor, you should no longer be confined to that fenced-off cage the police tend to use for political protestors.

The ACLU will probably sue as soon as the police do that again. Which they will. And soon, since elections are warming up.

And then there's the decision concerning no contraceptive care! It's as if we're all employed by the Catholic Church! Or some fundamental Christian outfit. I knew we were going to have to fight Roe vs. Wade all over again.

But the worst part of that decision is that it seems to have given corporations consciences, or moral standing. They don't have morals or consciences!! They are business frameworks!! (IF the court wants to say they have consciences, THEN they should be punished with jail sentences when found breaking the law. So let's see that.) I hope there is a strong move to fight the definition of corporations. They are not people, not citizens, they should not enjoy rights that are guaranteed to us.

I guess these decisions were very much expected from this 5-4 court. I'm disappointed in Ruth G. about the 35-foot rule. She should have held out.

The hypocrisy of it is that while Hobby Lobby refuses to pay for contraception, they do cover Viagra and INVEST in contraception.

If there were a Hobby Lobby in Canada I would boycott it.

I'm taking over for your mom. I wrote my outrage at the Hobby-Lobby decision to the News-Press. They are probably not going to print it, but my ed did e mail that she wanted a piece on Clawson, who just won the interim senate seat when Trey Radel resigned because of a drug bust. So I got it late and wrote something and sent it to her, but it might be too late for their deadline.

"Free speech" must include hate speech, I guess. That's what the verdict says.

It popped up on my computer as soon as the decision was made. Hate, Hate,
Hate the Green family and their so called religious values. I remember
the depression, botched abortions that killed women and women worn out
with pregnancy after pregnancy and no relief!
