Snow and Websites

Tomorrow I have to dig the car out of snow. More will probably fall tonight. Oh, well. At least my wooden steps don’t really have to be cleared, since the bottom step is broken and the stairway barricaded.

Just sold a domain we were using previously for a fitness app website. The site was put up fast, and I thought it looked really nice, although it had a lot of work to be done. It’s offline now, since activware (dot)com is now in the hands of new owners. We’ll be moving the site to another name.

Here is my new favorite lamp. It’s an IKEA lamp cemented on a meter of some kind.

When my father-in-law worked for Martin-Marietta Aerospace, he frequented their salvage lot and brought home all kinds of interesting things like a big box about that size with dials and lights that he fixed up to blink and move, although it didn't have much meaning. Now we know he could have glued a lamp to the top and called it valuable. And gyroscopes that he used some sort of electric zap to get spinning, and then you held it in your hand, and the spinning created an inertia that stabilized the direction you could go with your hand.

Those items sound good, if they have old-timey chicken head knobs and things like that.

To each his own! I'm happier in 2 pairs of socks and multiple cardigans.

That's a nice lamp. The meter looks like an ohmmeter. My late first husband had lots of stuff like that in his electronics lab. I saved some of it like a "bug" (Morse code key) and stuff. And I have a direction finder for a ship that is standing at the edge of the entry to the living room. He was a radio officer in the Merchant Marine.

So that's an old ohmmeter. I'd love to see ship stuff. Old electronics are so nice.
