Shampoo

Neutrogena products are vanishing. First to go that I noticed was the fragrance-free lotion that came in a big bottle. Now the green transparent shampoo is gone from most stores, but on Amazon it's selling at a greatly inflated price. I spent a bunch of money when I found that Shop'n Save was selling theirs on Amazon at a reasonable price, because most shampoos make my skin react.

I've been stocking up on the fragrance-free hand cream that comes in those little tubes, since they might disappear too. Because when some of their best products are being dropped, that may mean the whole company is going.

Another company that has shrunk and retreated to small online spaces is Crabtree & Evelyn. The light massage oils are almost all gone. The room sprays, which were really nice, are mostly gone too. I used to love one called Moroccan Spice.

Every so often, when I'm in a laundromat and see Avon catalogs, I'll look to see if they would ever bring back any of their old traditional solid perfumes. I loved Topaz.

I guess I'll have to make my own shampoo, or shave my head or something.

I was diagnosed with blepharitis and told to dip a q-tip in baby shampoo and clean crusts off my eyelashes. That's when I discovered q-tips shed and Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo ("no more tears") stings like the dickens.

My mother used to stock up on things because, she said, 'they' might stop making them. I would roll my eyes, but now I understand it.

I'm allergic to Neutrogena products.

I guess for every product, a bunch of people won't be able to tolerate it. I remember burning the skin around my eyes when the eye doctor told me to use watered-down Baby Shampoo to wash the outside and eyelash area of my eyes! That stuff is toxic!

Let's not shave your head, dear...it is too drastic.

You're right. And think of the sunburn.

Sorry to hear this. I use their hand soap. I alernate shampoos, using about 4 different ones. Using one shampoo only is not good for your scalp. If you Google "non allergenic shampoos" (which I just did), you will get several alternatives. I hope you can find something just as good.

Yes, I'm aware of the reasons one should change amongst shampoos -- which I do. Even a hypoallergenic kind can cause a cumulative sensitivity effect if you use only that. Supposedly nonallergenic stuff really isn't. Oh, and Amazon thinks I'm a dog, because dog shampoo keeps coming up near the top of the list.
