Gadgets

My friend Mike is sending me a pulse oximeter so I can check my blood oxidation; and he sent me to Wyze.com to find a thermometer, since I don’t have one. There are some wonderful health gadgets around. I ordered a PhoneSoap, which will come sometime in May. It’s back-ordered.

One of my sisters (an M.D.) got herself a nice little UV-C wand to disinfect items that she has to carry around at work, like an iPad, phone, and her N95 mask. But to use it, she said, she puts on dark glasses, leather gloves and 2 layers of clothing. She said the scatter of the UVC light has to be considered. It bounces off the items you disinfect, and is going to strike you too, and not enough is known about the damage it causes when you get considerable exposure to this kind of light. Since she’s already had cancer, she prefers taking precautions.

A box that kills germs on your phone with a UV light. I just use a Clorox wipe on my phone. Is that okay? Please say it's okay. I don't have a box.

Even Apple said you can do that now, use a wipe on an iphone. Just be very careful not to scrub at the touchscreen, or to get moisture in any of the openings.

I need the phone box. It sounds like a perfect solution to the things that were worrying me like credit cards and keys. I made my own bleach solution but there are some things you don't want to use it on.

Phonesoap is a box you put your phone in, close it and it kills the germs on your phone in 10 minutes with UV light. Or you could put your keys in it to sanitize them, or credit cards, or money.

A little bit of prep pays off in peace of mind.

Yes, now my friend Mike wants one just like it, because he has to have all the gadgets available.

A scientist mentioned recently that they turn on the UV when everybody leaves the lab for the day. Guess I don't have to wonder why any longer!

Now that reminds me of the cabinet my other sister mentioned, at her hospital. It was used for killing germs on items, but it used gamma radiation.
