Martin’s reports of what he likes in the latest streaming shows reminded me of the show I watched all the way through a season, then had to watch over again because I fall asleep towards the end of many episodes and miss a third of it. It’s quite a revelation when I see the season had more to it than I knew.
Anyway, I was watching a show called Evil on Netflix. I liked the main character, who is very precise and detail-oriented to the point of obsessiveness, and also very honest. She’s a clinical psychologist who testifies about defendants and whether they’re lying or competent, etc. Then she gets hired by the Catholic Church to consult on investigations into possessions, miracles, and other ridiculous stuff. So soon there are supposed demons and possessed people and so on. It is often very funny, but also scary. There’s a group of 60 demons who are apparently campaigning on Earth right now (employing social media), and an ancient document is found that shows all their names and sigils.
In demonology lore, there are around 72 demons or so, and I found some lists online of their names. And of course I started checking to see if they were registered as domains. … Yep. Of the entire list, there were only 4 that no one had bothered to get as a domain name. People are weird.
