Bad Mac ...

Have had to run back and forth to Kinkos to do some stuff my computer(s) suddenly won't. It is pretending it doesn't know how to make sound now, so I can't make skype calls.

I can't remember how to use microsoft anything. The windows aren't all that different, but it slows you down hunting for the controls to things. Controls are in opposite positions as mac, mostly.

Tomorrow I'll have to pack one of the 27" monitors and mini desktop into a big pelican case and roll it into the Apple store, carrying my laptop too. Then I guess I'll make to make a second trip another day with the other monitor and desktop to get all of it repaired. Oh, well, I guess it's because I am normally so smug about Apple products. This is my payback.

I bought a refurbished Acer desktop probably a year ago and almost regretted it. But Windows did some sort of update and all the errors stopped occurring on a daily basis. That is, the errors no longer occur at all, so I'm happy with it now.

Bad Bad computers. Don't hurt your back with all that toting them
around...it would be the final insult.

Maybe I won't have to -- after switching the monitor on the main computer, it slowly seems to be fixing itself. I have sound again, and the flickering is gone. It was something about the cable, I think. Next I'll try hooking the monitor that went dark onto the other machine and see if that one fixes itself too.
