Atlantis

We have a lot of water here, would you like some?

It’s a good thing I’ve had no need to get to the airport area lately, because the only way I know to get there — major ramps to bridges — are under several feet of water, flooded. It’s been 3 or 4 days of almost continuous rain. The Mon Wharf, which was named “The Bathtub” years ago, has been inaccessible since the rain really began. It is normally a parking lot. And Point State Park is kind of nonexistent, with the fountain entirely underwater. This reminds me of the year when boats from the river got stuck in the fountain when the river flooded.

How it should be, dry:

Pittsburgh might be going the way of Atlantis after a few more years of global warming.

And of course everyone's contending with their own yards and basements. I have to tell the landlord again his brother did not fix anything regarding the sump pump, which is overwhelmed again. Blah.

so far a decent amount of rain, some heavy wind fallouts from northern hurricanes, but nothing serious. Last year was enough, and the hurricane season won't be over till Nov. 1. Sorry you have to suffer all that flooding.

Yes, we'd like some - not all, but some. It has been so hot and dry here, it's hard to imagine the eastern part of the country is having so much rain.

My friend Mike is encouraging me to will things to happen, so I'm sending intent directions to the clouds to go in your direction.

Our rainy season started last week. No flooding though. Looks like it's time to get out the hip waders.

If I remember right, you're next to water too, so I guess it's happening all over. Almost.

You are talking to the wrong guy here--it is rainy season here plus we will be under water before Pittsburgh even gets it up to their ankles! Right now we are having King Tides--google it and then tell me about Pittsburgh and Atlantis!!

Oh, yes, you should all be living in boats and rafts there, it's Waterworld. I didn't know the biggest tides were now.

So sorry! BTW, we have a bridge in Oklahoma over Lake Eufalla whimsically named Lottawatah but it doesn't come close to what y ou are coping with.

Great name, Lottawatah.

Wow! I know that spot in Pittsburgh. Beautiful. Hurricane related?
comment by jerms on Sept 11, 2018 11:05 AM ()
That's what I understood, that the rain was from weather pushed ahead of the hurricane.
