United Flakes of America

Borrowed the title from Dave Letterman. What? Twenty-three states have petitioned the White House to secede since the election? We know which ones they are... all of the places Democrats should avoid...Arizona, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida(?!), Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina. The good news is that most of us will still be citizens of the same country. I agree that those who filed these petitions- their brains likely already seceded from their bodies.

Hmmm... maybe we can get NY and NJ to secede before we spend the billions in federal aid to recover from hurricane Sandy. Matter of fact, Florida and Louisiana and a few of these other states are high-maintenance too and suck up billions in hurricane and disaster relief and greatly add to the national debt. Maybe these states seceding is not such a bad deal.

Can I stay a USA citizen even if I live in a UFA state?
Do we have to refund taxes paid by UFA states/citizens in previous years?
Lots of questions and issues to ponder.

Moral of the story: If my Barbie can't be the queen and dictate all of the rules, then I am going to pack up all of my dolls and go home. So there now too!

Are these official petitions from the state's governor, or what??? How incredibly ludicrous!

No, ordinary citizens. The White House must officially review and respond to any petition with a minimum of 25,0000 signatures (garnered within 30 days of the date of filing). Texas has more than the required number and likely South Carolina will have as many as they need by the deadline- December 10th, based on their filing date. The Tea Party denies any direct support of this while the Republican spin is a bit bizarre.

I really don't understand this movement. It seems so backward. We lost so we are going to take our toys and go home like toddlers? Neither candidate was of a caliber that will destroy our country or need to be feared for being the root of all evil.

Yes, that is definitely what it sounds like to me...so you better let my Barbie be the queen or you know what will happen!

We have lived long enough to see the world run out of sanity before running out of resources to squander!

The last time they tried to secede we kicked their arses but good.

Fortunately, I was not around then... or maybe I would be living up north.

You are right, they are total flakes!! Yes, we still fly confederate flags
and have not progressed beyond that era. Our stupid Gov. boggles my mind.
comment by elderjane on Nov 28, 2012 6:02 AM ()
We have them down here too! Hey, considering where we both live, we will still be fellow citizens. We will just be citizens of flakes instead of states!

Crazies all! We still have Hoosiers flying Confederate flags. Disgusting.
comment by solitaire on Nov 28, 2012 5:40 AM ()
Oh, they fly the Confederate flag down here too- and display it in the back of their pick-up trucks right behind their gun racks.

Don't know where my recent humor is coming from but it beats getting annoyed over all of this stupidity.
