Today I Catch Up!

I meant to catch up on posts yesterday but spent the day touching up the portrait of my grandsons and clearing up my email folder.

I had over 200 emails parked for when I get a 'round tuit.' I probably get about 60-70 emails a day, sometimes more. Less than ten of that number are jokes and cutsie things that I generally delete. I rarely forward 'junk' mail. I don't have the time and don't want to invite more. Most of my mail relates to my duties as an editor for the Coast Guard Auxiliary and VSA Florida. I triage emails: respond to what I must, delete the unwanted, do what is convenient at the time (answer questions, critique other editor's newsletters- part of my job in improving the overall quality of newsletters in our district) and park the rest for when I have time. Of the almost 200 less than critical emails that I had parked for later, some were three weeks old. I just had to clear out that folder!

I am finished with the portrait. If I try to fix more, I will mess it up. I straightened the eyes and adjusted the curves of their faces and the skin color. This is much better! Now, they look more like a cute, healthy baby and toddler.

Now, on to your posts! I feel like I have missed out on something by not reading your posts here- now three days in a row! It is like visiting friends.

nice portrait! You are so talented. I haven't heard "A Round Tuit" in awhile - nice!

Thank you! I hope my DIL likes this.

Your "touch-ups" improved an already good portrait. I complained in a recent post about bloggers --disappearing w/o notice or infrequent use-- but as busy as we both are with various activities, it's probably for the best. I don't have time to read more than a dozen posts, plus write my own.

When I disappear, it is usually only for 3-4 days. These newsletters have taken over my life. It is difficult to find time to paint.

Just love the portrait, Dottie, and your color improvements. It — and your dear grandsons — are precious! Happy reading, and enjoy a wonderful day....

Lovely portrait, Dottie. I got a sense of their different personalities.

Rowan (the older of the two) is a real sweetie. I cannot wait for him to be old enough to carry on a conversation.
