Snow Jewels- for Martha

It was tough to capture all of the colors and images that Martha (marta) painted in the poem by the same name. My painting is larger and I cropped it to this size. There was stuff there (more window and wall area above the window) that just did not need to be there. I don't know that I did her poem justice. Sometimes the mental imagery that words create just need to be left alone, but I so liked the "sapphire sky" the "peachy dawn", and the branches of black trees "reaching up with me to grasp the light." Besides, it gave me something to paint!

The raising of the arm makes one (me) wonder why. I'll have to reread Martha's poem. If I were the artist (which, of course, I'm not), I'd have her hands clasped behind her back. But still, I like it!

"Finger branches of tall black trees reach up with me to grasp the light..." She is reaching.

It is not sad to me, It is like greeting the dawn but I haven't read
Marta's poem.

Her words paint images hard to capture.

So glad you like it. It was difficult to translate your words into a visual image. Your words were image enough.

A lovely picture. The morning star, hands ready to catch the falling new found wishes - fabulous interpretation. I also love the way you have the reflection of the snowy scene on the floor

I didn't get a sad feeling from it. I think you did an excellent job of capturing the imagery in Martha's poem.

For some reason,I get a very lonely picture with this.
Maybe it is the snow and she is crying to get out of her shell there.
She is asking for help.
I get the feelings that this could be you?no puns, just my thought.

Well, I used bright colors so I did not mean it to look sad. Yes, I used a picture of me to get the proportions right, but I did not feel sad.
