Radar Ears and Parachute Gown.

I was going through a box of pictures and found this one. I had no idea that I had a copy of this! This one required no restoration except for a few dust flecks.

As you can see, my dad's ears were huge, and this is a full view of the wedding gown that my mother made out of a parachute.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the mothers out there!

That's great that you found this better photograph, so much better than that botched crop job. When you came across it, you must have been thrilled.

Yes, I was thrilled! This will work well. I am putting together a book of photographs for my grandsons.

She made that dress from a parachute! Absolutely amazing! It is lovely.

My mother was a seamstress and she could make anything without a pattern. She made tons of our dresses as we were growing up.

This is a wonderful picture. Marriage is gone into with such hope and
innocence.

This was her 2nd marriage. Her first marriage was to a German SS officer whom she said was nasty and violent. He escaped to Norway during the occupation when the Nurnberg trials started.

Neither of my son-in-laws ever open their mouths when photos are taken. I wonder why not? Too unmanly? But this photo must be a nice surprise for you! Wonderful!

Remember how Moe regarded her family photographs at the end of my book when she burns down her house? They do not portray the pain that families endured.
