Wonder if he is so ashamed of this "filth" that he will return some of the $8 Million a year that he earns?

How sad for your sister. At least given her state of mind, she will recover although the chemo can be draining.

How funny! I can just about picture your socks.

I also journal sporadically and I just realized that I stopped after Tod died.

In the future, ask if she will be there and tell your family that if your ex is present, then you respectfully decline to attend. That will clearly tell them where you stand without making them un-invite her. Your family probably thinks that your lack of protest means that you are ok with her being there.

You post about such interesting things and places. I never knew about this before.

I don't know that I sympathize with any of them except possibly the wife (She is a frump, isn't she?) and all of their children. Adultery is always wrong and usually ends up creating incredible pain and upheaval once discovered. I do agree that the media has gone on a frenzy over this. Way over the top!

Interesting post. No despair here. I love my country as much as you!
Forward, Obama!

What wonderful memories you gave them! I agree with your sister. It is time for one of the next generation to take over or the tradition will die with you. Maybe you could offer to assist one of the younger women in planning and cooking next year?

Ahh- the thought of those mouth watering dishes! Enjoy the family- and glad to hear your ear is ok.

Hope your ear is ok. Mine have been weird ever since I wrote about the whistle and pop that came out of no where. Have not asked a doctor about that yet. I hate getting new doctors!

I certainly missed you even if I am also absent quite a bit! I think you and I have a lot in common with the state of mind thing except I cannot blame it on 'seasonal affective disorder'. I just spend a lot of time in my basement, and considering that I live in Florida where there are no basements that just about says it all. Too bad you live so far away!

Just wondering... is the quality of your life as important to you as Quantity? This is not a challenge-it is a question. I would gladly sacrifice a few years of my life for having a wonderful time with friends and loved ones.

So many appointments in one day is a lot to deal with. I have not thought about thanksgiving yet.

Isn't it amazing that the vast majority of unbelievers are Republicans?
