Elections 2012

image

Florida has early voting so I went to the polls yesterday to cast my vote. A friend of mine said that the polling places had long lines all day so I went after 6 PM and there will still 15-20 minute lines!

I am sick of political ads, esp. the blatant lies and distortions. Why is there zero accountability- NO requirement to even approximate honesty? Why are these outrageous allegations not regarded as slander? Somehow, voting earlier makes the ads less annoying. I know- that is not rational.

I was worried about Fredo because I read N.H. declared a state of emergency and called out their national guard after hurricane Sandy. He had not posted in a while so I called him on Skype. I am happy to report that he is ok... but next time I decide to Skype someone I think I will comb my hair and put on make-up FIRST! (Vanity, vanity!)

I also voted early (no line). Not only the ads, but the "nightly news" is too much. I'm not even watching MSNBC (Ed, Rachel, etc.) because listening to what the Republicans are all about infuriates me. There's nothing I can do, but vote. And I did already.

The line surprised me, yet I hear fewer are voting in Florida this year.

I know how you feel about the ads. I am REALLY interested in politics, and I am SOOO done with the ads. We are even getting them for the Senate race in Massachusetts next door. It seems like so many of the races have turned dirty!

The blatant dishonesty is what gets me- like the creative math Romney uses to arrive at 26 million unemployed- and trying to make seniors believe that Obama is "gutting Medicare"- as if that means they will lose all or most of their medical coverage. GRRRRR....

I could really get worked up over some of the things I read in our right
wing paper. One such article was that Obama insulted women when he advocated
birth control and necessary abortion!! EEEEGod's I have learned to despise
Republican tactics!

Me too! The worst thing is people refuse to check facts. They hear what suits their bias/opinion and accept it as absolute truth.
