I rarely get anything new but I had to buy a new fridge because the old one- 15 years 'young'- went kaput. I had a repairman out for the old one but he said to fix it would cost hundreds of dollars and recommended that I buy a new one. I used the old one for another 2 months without the ice maker, but got tired of frozen lettuce and the food in the freezer partially thawing then refreezing again. I could not control the temperature. I bought a new fridge and am just amazed at what a difference it makes! I forgot what 'normal' fridge temperature was and nothing in the freezer ices over. It is a bit wider/taller than the old one and the cutting board that I previously stored between the fridge and the wall (sitting beside the cabinet) needs a new home.
I got rid of the huge desk that was on my back porch and the corner desk in my office. That desk was just too big. Now, I should have space for maybe a futon in that room. Next, I have to figure out if I need to keep all of the book cases in that spare room. A few years ago I gave away about 15 boxes of books. I still have five large book cases filled with books- and do I really need/want them all? When is the last time I read one of them? I have a futon in my family room. Now that I no longer sleep in the family room, I think I would rather get a smaller sectional sofa. (Yes, I slept in the family room for a few years. Women who live alone do strange things.)
New things and changes are fun. I think I forgot that too.
