The Last Debate

Since when is it a flaw to be 'eloquent'? I was really annoyed every time McCain threw that back at Obama as if it were a criticism. I kept thinking, which one of these guys would I prefer to see at a table renegotiating trade agreements or facing world leaders on any other topic? McCain and Palin might embarrass us to death.

I am also sick about hearing about Ayers and domestic terrorism. Good grief! The Weathermen were created (and faded out) over 40 years ago. As Obama said, he was eight years old at the time, and his dealings with Ayers thirty years later occurred in a more responsible, civic minded context. (As far as Ayers is concerned- and this is an aside and has nothing to do with Obama- people change. Which one of us here over 50 or even 40 years old would care to be held responsible for actions and opinions we held in our youth?)I think McCain and Palin are running the dirtiest campaign I have ever witnessed, and I am old enough to have seen a few.

Palin is a role model for women? Give me a break, McCain! She would set the women's movement back two decades! I am disgusted and inclined to rant, so let me stop here. Let me simply say in my opinion, Obama appeared more Presidential while McCain came off as a desperate A--hole.

And yet, who was that McCain "impersonator" the following night at the Alfred E Smith dinner? He cracked me up as a stand-up comedian! Obama was funny, too.

I don't know who John McCain is anymore? He comes across like a grouchy old runt now who has sunk into self absorption...

I am so very sick of all the negativity! Palin would be the last person I would want as a role model, for sure.
