Just got back from a short cruise to the Bahamas. My friend, Kay, wanted me to go with her. She said she was paying for the cruise and answered few questions. Her daughter and her daughter's best friend also went along. Kay insisted on us staying overnight in a hotel before the cruise. I wish I had pressed her for more answers before agreeing to go.
Turns out we had to arrive Thursday night to be available on Friday for a tour of a time share. What I thought would be a two-hour tour of the time share turned into a seven-hour sales pitch. Friday was a bust. The time share sales company paid for the three-day Bahama cruise (Sat-Mon). I ended up paying tips and port fees, about $56. I likely would have gone had I known in advance how the cruise was paid for, but I kind of resent my friend not being more forth-coming with me. I never knew in advance about the port fees and tips either. My own damn fault for not asking more questions before hand and believing Kay was paying for this out of the goodness of her heart.
Enough griping. I needed the time away. Before I left, I was ready to resign at least one of my positions within the Auxiliary. I thought things through and settled for renegotiating one of my positions and declining a new one. I don't need more work. I need less. I need more time to paint again.
