We've had so much rain this week that I have lake front property, again. I have two rain gauges, one says 70 mm and the other 85mm - over 3 inches either way. It's a sloppy mess out there.
I ran in the drizzle on Tuesday morning, and it was kind of nice. I ran in the rain on Wednesday morning, and it was horrible! The extra 24 hours made for saturated roads - I live on a gravel road - so even the .7km of gravel road to the closest paved road was difficult to get through. The rain has stopped for the moment, so if it doesn't rain much overnight, I'll try running again in the morning.
I volunteered for the grade 1's zoo trip today, and it ended up on a rain day. We went anyway. I had 2 other kids along with my DD. The rain never let up, so we got a bit wet... but saw a small part of the zoo and had fun. Baby wart hogs and mountain sheep are cute! I had 2 other kids along with my DD. We only had 2.5 hours, from departing the bus, to leaving on the bus, so it was a very short visit! We ate lunch in front of the gorillas, and one was VERY interested in what we were eating. It came right up to the glass and watched us. Looking into it's eyes, I silently told it I was sorry. I wish I could share, I wish you could live free and in the wild. :(
