I actually got to do the group run with my yoga/pilates/step aerobics instructor K (who I'd really like to be friends with), and 3 other women.
We met at the rec centre in town, and then headed out for a run around the lake. We ran at the other 3's pace, which was actually very slow, plus they were doing run 10 minutes, walk 1.
I had no problem keeping up, in fact, I felt fantastic! The weather was beautiful, and I barely felt tired all through the run. It took 1:02 to run the 9.something km around the lake. That's slow. I was doing it in 55 minutes last fall.
Unfortunately, K wore new shoes, and cotton socks, and rubbed a HUGE blister on her heel! It was BAD! Poor thing!
That was my first time ever going for a run with someone else (other than in a race!).
And K finally did register for the 10k run on July 10, so we will go together, and hopefully do some more runs together before then.
I so desperately need friends so this is a big deal to me. :)
