Gifts for Men

Okay everyone, what are the really good gifts for men?

My brothers, dad and DH are always hard to buy for.

Brothers generally get hockey-branded stuff (blanket, beach towel, coin bank, etc).

Dad gets booze or free-trade coffee.

DH is even harder. Doesn't watch hockey, only drinks beer occasionally, doesn't drink coffee...

Got movie tickets for one brother, a clock with the numbers "falling" down to the bottom and the words "whatever" (ordered from Avon, might not get it in time!, eek!), two little hockey themed trinkets for dad (need something more!), and for DH: pajamas and two pairs of work gloves. DD also noticed his toothbrush is in bad shape, so she wants to buy him a new one.

So need more for DH and dad. Thinking of getting DH an UnderArmor shirt or two from SportChek, hmmm, that might work for my dad too....

A male friend of mine says Mag-Lite flashlights, big or small(from sporting goods stores - also look for the one with LED bulb in it, it's wonderfully bright); good knives are nice; Carhartt socks or other heavy wool socks.

Good ideas, I like the flashlight and knife one (like Swiss Army
I assume, not kitchen?). DH still has years old wool socks. I
did check his sock draw to see if he could use any, but no luck.
Got him work gloves, toothbrush, 1 cotton tshirt, 2 not-cotton
Underarmor tshirts. His birthday is Jan 10, so thinking Underamor
pants to go with the shirts. I'd love to buy him Carhartt clothes,
but he's usually washing dishes in the kitchen when I'm outside
the hard, dirty chores (hey, I need the Carhartts!)

You'd be surprised at how many men like smelling good. No, really. It's shocking. Anyway, have you ever thought about getting some of that Axe stuff? You know...the spray deodarant and such. Or what about a favourite show on DVD?

I asked a man. He said, and I quote, "A calendar with half naked women on it."

I tried for you, I really did.

Love the Axe commericals, but since I tend to be allergic to
chemical fragrances, it's not really an option. Thanks for trying
though, I'd get him the calendar if he had a man cave to put it in.

I make it easy on everyone. When asked, I say "NOTHING"! Reason? I don't even want to think about what to give you. Nothing begats nothing.

That would make things much easier.

DH's Christmas List: A tie
I have three, rather pricey, items on my list. He's supposed to pick one but I'll bet he gets me all three.

I did consider a tie, but he only needs to wear one a few times
a year so it would be a waste.

I saw a picture book about pickup trucks the other day that I would buy if I was buying for a man. Mr. Tbend says pocket knife (or other knife), gift certificate to Home Depot or a bookstore. Of course when you're married, a gift certificate is paid for with both of your money, but it implies 'buy whatever you want, and I won't give you the stink eye and think 'why would you want that?'
