Monkey See? I Can Do.

I started a part-time job this week at the quilt store not far from my house. One day a week I will go to the shop and cut fabric and help folks figure out how to put colors together for a quilt. The ladies that work there are "master" quilters so as I cut cloth I get to hear the in's and out's of what to do and what NOT to do... gosh, I think I'll feel guilty about getting paid - I think I'm getting the best deal here.
I worked out today and as I was leaving I heard on of the ladies say, " I'm going to get a massage today, this is been a horrible day for me. I lost my cat. The automatic garage door got her..." I thought she did well just to get out today, I don't think I could have left the house.
I'm watching Bob's blog (Saito56) to see if "Fay" has decided to move West or just hover over Jacksonville.
I'm in another one of those " not reading books" funk. This is about the third time this year~ not sure exactly what it means.
Its about time for a visit from Lynell. She's in New Orleans, taking care of folks. She has gone MAD quilting. I've made about 5 since January, she is handing them out like candy to her friends. I bet she can get a whole quilt done and in the mail in two weeks! What a gal.
I'm going to ck MzScarlett's blog and see if Big Foot has shown up in her ER.
Laterz y'all.

I have a friend here that is a quilter and is pretty well known in Hawaii for her quilts. It seems like it's a fun hobby. Don't think I would have the patience for it though.

Great job, Cindy! I don't quilt, but have an aunt who makes hundreds of them... She's really good. She has two daughters, and I don't think either cousin quilts! It is a real talent! Really cute chimp! ...Guess I'll go visit MzScarlett, too.

Quilting is such a wonderful art form. I remember my mom and her friends getting together in the basement of our home quilting, laughing and having such a great time. Thanks for the memories.

I think I would HATE quilting, but I sure do LOVE quilts! Especially, say, in December with a raging Nor'easter howling outside. Nothing better than to be snuggled up with your honey in a warm quilt by the fire!

I would love to learn to quilt. My grandmother gave me a quilt when I was young that is one of my treasured possessions.

I admire your quilting talent and expertise so much. I can sew on a button or mend a hem, but that's about it. Finding and doing work doing something your love may be one of the great secrets to happiness in this life.
