PORTLAND, Maine -- Backers of independent presidential candidate Buggs of MyBloggerstown have submitted what they say is far more than the minimum number of petitions they need to place her name on the November ballot in Maine.
Campaigners for Buggs said the filed petitions containing 7,000 signatures -- or 3,000 more than the required minimum -- to the secretary of state's office on Friday.
The campaign said Maine will be the 30th state in which the longtime much loved Buggs has filed for a ballot line.
Buggs would be the fifth presidential candidate on the Maine ballot, along with Democratic, Republican and Green Party nominees.
Buggs petition organizer Cindy LouWho said the 7,000 signatures turned in Friday will thwart any attempt by the Democrats to challenge Buggs candidacy in Maine.
Meeting tonight in the mybloggers chat room. 9:00PM CST. All are welcome.
