Dulcimer

My youngest son had a birthday on the 15th. What do you get a kid who now has a wife, and everything he needs. He is a senior in college , they are saving their $$ but his basic needs are met and they do well.

Back to the story, I wanted to get something for just "him" this year. Not a "they" present, not a gift card, but a unique gift.

He plays all kinds of string instruments - I gave him my mandolin last year, he plays his guitars, etc.

This is what I got- a dulcimer.

He just called while sitting on the steps in from of the library, waiting for a friend to meet him for a study session. He was playing his dulcimer. " Scotland the brave (?), Amazing Grace..... he is really enjoying his surprise birthday gift.

It's great to get a call and hear your kid just "enjoying" life in the moment and knowing I had something to do with it.

what do get him.He seemed to have everything there.
How about volunteer for the homeless Vet on his bday.
This is the greatest gift of all.
Maybe he can entertain them.

Great gift for the talented! I would love to learn to play guitar. Only four strings, didn't know that. But then again there's plenty I don't know.

I love the sound of the dulcimer! Nice that he was glad to get it; you have such a nice family.
