Headless Horseman!

The Headless Horseman rides tonight
Through stark and starless skies,
Shattering the silence with
His otherworldly cries.
He races through the darkness
On his alabaster steed,
The Headless Horseman rides tonight,
Wherever the fates would lead.

And he rides upon the wind tonight,
He rides upon the wind,
Galloping, galloping, galloping on
Out of the great oblivion,
Galloping till the night is gone.
He rides upon the wind, tonight,
He rides upon the wind.

The Headless Horseman rides tonight
Beggared in robes of black,
To bear a being from the earth,
Never to bring him back.
He’s evil, foul, and bottoming,
With laughter on his breath.
The Headless Horseman rides tonight,
The minister of death.

And he rides upon the wind tonight,
He rides upon the wind,
Galloping, galloping, galloping on
Out of the great oblivion,
Galloping till the night is gone.
He rides upon the wind, tonight,
He rides upon the wind.

The Headless Horseman rides tonight,
He rides the wind alone.
Beneath his arm he tightly tucks
His head of gleaming bone.
His voice is harsh and hollow,
It is horrible to hear.
The Headless Horseman rides tonight
To fill the earth with fear!

And he rides upon the wind tonight,
He rides upon the wind,
Galloping, galloping, galloping on
Out of the great oblivion,
Galloping till the night is gone.
He rides upon the wind, tonight,
He rides upon the wind.

The Headless Horseman rides tonight
Upon his fateful trip,
With silvery stiles of steely death
Held fast in boney grip.
He sweeps it swiftly forth and back
As over the earth he glides,
And none in the world is safe tonight,
For the Headless Horseman rides.

And he rides upon the wind tonight,
He rides upon the wind,
Galloping, galloping, galloping on
Out of the great oblivion,
Galloping till the night is gone.
He rides upon the wind, tonight,
He rides upon the wind.

How to Reach Sleepy Hollow
Step1
Sleepy Hollow is in New York state. It is about 30 miles north of Manhattan. The closest town is Tarrytown, New York.
Step2
From points south and near New York City, you would take Interstate 87 north until you reach Route 9 north. Get on 9 north, and that takes you directly to Tarreytown, which is just south of Sleepy Hollow. Continue on right into Sleepy Hollow.
Step3
From points West, you would take Interstate 287/87 across the Tappan Zee Bridge. Then, get on Route 9 North until you reach Tarreytown and then Sleepy Hollow.
Step4
From the North, you would simply follow Route 9 south until you reach Sleepy Hollow, about ten minutes after passing Ossining, New York.
How to Enjoy Sleepy Hollow
Step1
Once you have found your hotel and checked in, grab your camera and get ready to go. The first stop, of course, is to visit Sleepy Hollow where the legendary headless horseman crossed the old covered bridge.
Step2
The site of the old bridge The site of the old bridge When driving on Route 9, you will come into Sleepy Hollow. It is a very small town. The old church and cemetery are there. You can go inside during visiting hours and take a tour. You can even venture back into the cemetery along a road where there is a bridge like the one the headless horseman used to cross. The old bridge has now become a modern paved road, unfortunately.
Step3
Inside the Horseman Restaurant Inside the Horseman Restaurant Just south of the old church is a restaurant, the Horseman. The food is decent and the prices are reasonable. It is the only restaurant right in the area and is worth trying.
Step4
Across from the church and a block south, is the Phillipsburg Manor. Visit here and take a trip back in time to the 1800's. This is an old farm where you can tour the manor house, and view 18th century farming activities, such as milling (website listed in Resources).
Step5
Once you're done exploring Sleepy Hollow itself, there is much more to do nearby. The most exciting nearby attraction is Castle on the Hudson. You can stay at the castle and/or have a wedding and wedding reception there. It overlooks the Hudson River and provides an excellent view. You could also just eat dinner there in the castle restaurant (Website listed in resources).
Step6
Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown are near the Hudson River. This means you can visit the river and take part in water activities there.
Step7
Visit Sunny Side, the former home of Washington Irving who wrote the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The site was declared a historical landmark in 1962. To reach it, drive from Tarreytown towards Sleepy Hollow on Route 9, and make a left on Sunny Side Lane.

It'd be fun to explore that part of the country for a couple of weeks, and then scoot on home.
