Mom's going south after all. The B.F. is going with her. The catch is that they're renting a nearby condo instead of using her RV.
Why? On Dec. 3, 2010, the BF announced that he just could NOT return toi the RV.
Tampa, near his daughter, would be better. He wanted to rent a motel room or apartment. His kin would be drafted into driving them around, since he didn't want to drive when he was down there or anyplace else, truth be told.
He just can't take the stairs to enter the RV - and I get that. Bad knees and COPD. Plus he barely moves out of the recliner these days. Seems to me he knew that last spring - but why bother mentioning it then?
I thought I had a solution. I was really excited about it too.
Nope, he says, he won't use it. It's too expensive. ($1000 for that as opposed to $3300 rent on the condo. Umm, I guess that math isn't his strong suit.) Then he says the bathroom is too small because his knees hit the wall when he sits on the toilet. Ooo-kaaaaay.
At the RV she'd be on familiar ground with neighbors she's known for about 20 years. Less chance she could wander away without someone catching her.
On the other hand, a miserable BF could make her miserable, too. He then launched into a sob story about how this is probably his last year to go and he wants to be comfortable and yada, yada, yada. But he'd go to the RV if I said so. Whine, whine, whine.
I finally agreed to let her go to the condo. Then I volunteered to drive her car down for them. Anyone want to ride shotgun?
