A few weeks ago, I had my very first ever (and probably the one and only) ride in a stretch limo.

My friend John used to drive limos for a living. He quit last year because jobs were scarce and nobody was hiring limos as often as people used to. So John was forced to find another job. However, his ex-boss still calls him once in a while to do the odd job here and there for which he gets cash (don’t tell the IRS) which helps with the bills.

That night John’s customer (a very wealthy businessman) took his girlfriend out for a special dinner and after John dropped them off at the restaurant he had about three hours to kill.  So he called me and asked if I wanted to go for a drive.  

Naturally I couldn’t jump into this car with just a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt so I got into a little dress and put my hair up and put a little lipstick on and off I went.

It was awesome!!  Such a beautiful, luxurious, plush car…….I felt like a princess sitting there in the gorgeous white leather seats, romantic songs (Harry Connick Jr)  playing on the sensurround speakers, a chilled bottle of Chardonnay, and the setting sun in the background.

He took me down to the river where we stopped to watch the sun finally disappear in the horizon, then we went to a nice Chinese restaurant for a meal.  He had to park the limo right near the window of the restaurant so he could keep an eye on it……apparently there are some people who like to approach these limos and vandalize them so he needs to stay nearby whenever he parks it.

The people in the restaurant must have thought it was weird or odd that the passenger of the limo was having dinner with the chauffeur….lol..

After our meal he still had another hour or so to kill so we went for a nice drive around a pretty suburb with pretty houses and parks and beautiful trees.

There’s worse things to do on a Friday night huh???

Ps…for those who might be wondering…..nope, he’s not my boyfriend….he’s my very bestest best friend, and he’s gay.
