Klamath Falls, Oregon

Main Street... bad repair job.

The City of Klamath Falls has identified about $7 million worth of high priority street repair projects, but it only has about $2.5 million to spend.

It seems that Klamath Falls, Oregon really has a budget problem. And like most governments, they make some decisions that I don't really understand. They did a temporary fix on Main Street and didn't use the right asphalt mix. It is a big mess!

But, there are some other streets in Klamath Falls that one drives down at their own risk. Some of those potholes are so big that if your car falls in to one of them, you might just disappear forever.

Aaaaugh.... government!

University Med Center in Las Vegas is stopping its cancer services because the state has such a budget shortfall. This will affect Medicare, Medicaid, and indigent patients. Isn't it something that the federal govt just recently started acknowledging we are in a recession, but state and local govts have been telling us tax revenues are down for much, much longer. If it's bad now at the supposed beginning, think how much worse it'll get.

glad to see street department incompetence is not just confined to Devil's A--hole. I sometimes think that the go out looking for morons to run the street department. They don't have to look too far here.

I know the problem. I have built a lot of asphalt paved highways, and let me tell you the design of asphalt concrete pavement is not a well understood subject. It is both a science and an art. A good asphalt pavement man is worth his weight in gold.

Think that this is going on all over the place.
The economy is wearing thin her,and we have to cut back on the budget etc.
Think that you catch the drift on this.We are in a very bad time.
No money,no repair.They have to the best that they can.Very sad.
I do understand what your saying there.
