I have always kinda felt sorry for people who didn't celebrate holidays for one reason or another. I remember all my little kindergarten and 1st graders who were Jehovah Witness and didn't celebrate. They missed out while the other children were having fun. Their behavior often become undesirable during the holiday seasons as they "acted out" their frustrations. I know it was their parents believe system, but I just felt sorry for the children.
I've recently read some posts of adults who don't celebrate religious holidays because they don't believe there is a God. That is their choice. Still, I can't imagine holidays without some kind of festivities. If I ever change my mind about there being a God (which I won't), I would still have a tree, an Easter Bunny, and whatever. I just love the decorations and the fun.
So.... I say.... "Go ahead and Celebrate!"
