I'm happy to report that I am slowly getting better following the last back surgery which took place on April 28.. a little over a week ago. It was a very large surgery which included the removal of the herniated lumbar disk which had completely fallen apart and made it impossible for me to walk. The surgeon removed the damaged disk, the scar tissue from the previous surgery done on Dec. 26 and any jagged bone fragments. He then pulvarized some of that bone and mixed it with an artificial powder to make new bone. This mixture is being held in place with a couple of metal strips and some screws. New bone should grow from this mixture and the metal strips and screws will evidentially just be there... not serving any function. They won't remove them as that would mean more surgery. I've had more than enough surgery to last a lifetime. I sure hope this is the end of this ordeal.
Today, my pain level is at a minimum and the last couple of days, I haven't needed nearly as much pain medicine. Yeah!!!! I'm still pretty much helpless and they say not to ride in a car for at least 4 more weeks. I did travel to Klamath Falls on Monday to see the doctor and I was really hurting and sore after that trip. Soooo.... I'm happy to be staying home until I am better.
Things have been better with JR and myself the last few days. I think that the pain and the stress was really getting to both of us. Let's face it... pain is hard on a marriage.
JR is getting ready to bring the cows home from California. That move will happen this weekend. I think those cows are getting tired of the hot California sun and are probably ready to come home to Oregon. I'm anxious to see all of the spring calf crop.
Well... I've sat at the computer long enough. I'll talk with ya'll later.
Love & hugs - Annie :o)
