I went to see Jeri a couple years ago, and Rex wouldn't let me take his picture. That is no longer a problem: he let me take these pictures last week.

Golden retrievers are very adaptable to their owners - they can be exercise nuts or couch potatoes, so he is perfect for Jeri and Ted.

Yes, it does look like that. I was surprised when I got there - he was right there to greet me, as if I'd just stepped out for a second.

When they lived in the country Rex had a great time roaming free, swimming in the lake, and bringing home trophies. I worried about how he would adapt to city life, but he has taken it in stride. He deserves his name.

He's the Hobbes of the dog world. I always felt like if I went to your house, Hobbes would talk to me, and take me on a tour of the house. Rex is like that.

Rex is a wonderful dog child. He would have made an excellent therapy
cog. He protects me from Ted's wheel chair by backing me up and blocking
me in corners.

I admire him so much. He's got that air about him that he's keeping things together there. Not that things aren't together, but you know what I mean - that little bit of dog sanity in a crazy world.
