Quilts Completed

This weekend I made doll quilts for my little cousins from Texas.

These are for those American Girl dolls.

This is the quilt I started quilting Easter Sunday. Eloise likes to think she helped with it, but she didn't.

I know you want to know what those things on the side are.

The fabric was panels that were to make a kitchen calendar for 2001. It was on sale i 2002 so I bought it on sale.

Eloise has a beautiful white bib which, in this photo, almost looks like she's doing a Santa Claus imitation...

I like how the color on her front paws looks like a coat that has slipped almost off on one side.

Great looking. Whatdayamean Eloise didn't help? Her cheery presence inspired you, I'll bet.

Maybe so. When she gets to napping, that's serious work, and she'll be out of sight for hours. When she does make an appearance, she doesn't stay in one place for long - a few seconds here, a few seconds there. This might be kitten-ness, and she'll settle down when she matures in a couple more years.

Thanks! I came across the colored patches in my fabric inventory - an old kit that I'd robbed out of and would probably never find a use for these bits.

WOW! Pretty work!

Thanks! It was an experiment with the patchwork technique (strip piecing) and I figured if it worked, I'd use it for a prettier quilt. But then it ended up taking years to finish the top, so now I'm just glad to see it done with. Painting has faster results.

With just a few more quilts to finish, I see the light, and will be done with quilting so I can give my inspiration books and magazine clippings away.

Very nice--if you start now you can have mine ready for the holidays!

Seems like it'd have to be a Miami colored quilt, or something that would remind one of carrot cake.
