I'm taking a mini-vacation, actually what they call a staycation, but I hate that breezy nouveau speak. Chillax is another word I would be happy to never hear again. There's a big list of them, but I'm not going into it here.
Anyhow, what this means is I'm enjoying a relaxing weekend working on various needlework projects, sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds, daydreaming, and listening to audiobooks. How, you might ask, does this differ from most of the rest of my days? Aside from the days that I'm cleaning the guest cabin, that describes most of my days.
One of my favorite spots is the front porch of Trout Cabin. There are still a few hummingbirds at the feeders there.
But escape from the ordinary is a state of mind, and that's the state I'm in. The attraction of a real vacation is new experiences, so I'm going to try something different this weekend. Not sure what it will be yet, but it'll be different.
Eloise won't look me in the eye because she knows she should come in the house and she doesn't want to.
The hummingbirds love these nasturtiums.
