Still Has No Name

Kitty still has no name.

She is very playful and found a squirrel tail we had up on a bookshelf - she figured out it was there, jumped up and got it. She kept going back, and we finally figured out it was because there was a bit of fox fur on the shelf. I don't know how she knew.

This morning she saw the fox, watched him through the window. They made eye contact, but neither reacted.

She is so beautiful!

Doesn't she have the sweetest face? And a very nice personality. I'm glad we were able to give her a home.

She looks like a Princess.

She really does look like a princess. Last night she told me her name is Eloise, and I might name her Princess Eloise for her official name. And then we'll have time to come up with her every day name, the one that gladdens our heart.

Animals can have a gender preference depending on their early bonding experiences. Chewy preferred me (but he had lived with a woman for many years) for a long time and Ed was put out, but now seeks him out as well (although I think I am still no. 1). Consistent affection and attention from Mr. Youknow should bring her around in a bit. And particularly if he feeds her (you know that drill).

It's a treat to have a cat that likes me best.

Mr. Tbend searches her out during the day, and talks to her until she purrs, so she can get used to him. He will be leaving in a couple of weeks, and then it'll be months until she sees him again; they'll have to get reacquainted.

She is really a beautiful kitty. Princess is a nice name but not unusual. I'm thinking on it. She is also, apparently, very smart. Is she bonding to you? How is Mr. YouKnow reacting to her?

She likes us, me more than him. He likes her a lot, but she doesn't have time for him right now. (This is laden with pronouns.)

"Kitty" seems like a cop-out, but it's the best we're going to do until inspiration strikes us.

She is a darling. Young pets that are still playful are a lot of fun and
I will bet she smelled the squirrel and fox fur.

I have to keep reminding myself she is still young: only a year old, so maybe she will mellow out and spend more time with us. Plus, she is probably still getting used to the house.

Princess?????

That's what I've been thinking because she is just so sweet. It might be good for the official name. Mostly we've been calling her Streak because when she isn't upstairs napping she's streaking around the living room. We barely have time to get to know her.
