I'm so sorry to hear that our Mississippi friend Larry Breland was overtaken by the leukemia he's had for some time, and recently died. He's gone to his reward.
Larry was one of our more conservative members here on MyBloggers. Okay, that's an understatement, if you recall some of his posts. Larry put me on the mailing list for his church newsletter that he edited, and kept track of my address changes with the seasons.
I always made sure to send holiday cards to Larry - not just Christmas, but any excuse during the year, and I'll miss writing to him.
He had a strong Christian faith, and helped a lot of people in his church. When Sue was having her problems escaping from Texas, and finally got back to Mississippi Larry went to see her a couple of times and reported back to Jeri and me because it was so hard to find out what was going on with her.
I sent Larry a birthday card in early June, and didn't hear that he received it. I have a feeling that I forgot to write in it because I sorted it out early and put a post-it on it with the date so I wouldn't forget to send it. Then, in the rush of getting it out, I forgot to look inside to make sure I'd at least signed my name. So he probably didn't know who sent it. But just as likely, he was getting ready to bid us all adios.
Rest in peace, Larry, have a nice time with all your buddies up in heaven.
