More Deer

This morning there were five deer in the back yard. My camera was set wrong, so I didn't get a picture of the half-grown spotted fawn. From the yard they went down into the river and I could hear their hooves on the rocks.

They paused on the island in the river (hard to see).

I ran across the bridge to the fishing path. They were curious about me so we got a good look at each other.

They never did bolt. Eventually, they went back across the river and up the ridge that runs behind our house.

I hope you used zoom and didn't get too close. Even sweet, benign looking deer can kill.
