I am glad you are protecting their trees with chicken wire. He is cute but
oh so destructive.

Thanks, Fredo. I like the one where he's swimming because the water looks so refreshing.

Fabulous little animal, beautiful

Their fur is nice. There is a restaurant near here that has a taxidermy beaver on display.

They have those little hands that they use to move rocks, sticks, and dirt onto their dams.

Bucky is a poseur! He's photogenic.

When he heard me tiptoeing along the river bank, he stood up and I snapped that picture.

Bucky is cute. It's too bad he can do so much damage when all he really is trying to do is build his home.

We respect their work ethic, but would like to see less of them.

Thank you. I had more pictures but couldn't get them to load.

Bucky is charming. Sorry about his mischief.

We stand there for hours watching them.

they the beavers you have mentioned ?---only in zoos out here -- we have the rare platypus instead
comment by kevinhere on July 27, 2010 1:12 AM ()
Yup, these are them. The platypus like a comic version of our beavers, and with that duck bill, I'm betting they can't chew down trees like the Bucky family does all the time.
