The Wrath of Nature
I started out on my bike around 4:15, avoiding the hottest part of the day. The sky was dark in one or two places and I considered taking the umbrella and thought, hey, I won’t melt.
Well, melting turned out not to be the problem and the umbrella would have been ripped out of my hand. How about gale force winds that blew me and bike off the road and into a bush. I had taken off my sunglasses, but the rain pelted my eyes and felt like hail. I couldn’t keep them open. I managed to get myself and bike under a carport and waited till the rain stopped going sideways. Lightning and thunder was also a worry. It was still coming down hard when I finally got into my driveway, but it wasn’t moving me around. Phew.
I got into the house and Ed trailed after me with a mop making snickering noises.
I have always thought it would be fun to swim in our pool when it is raining but Ed tells me it is dangerous if there is lightning. So I didn’t do it.
The kitties, especially Brunswick, huddled under our legs as we sat down. Brunzy is really afraid of thunder.
If the island doesn’t float into the Gulf, I’ll be back tomorrow.
