We get a USA Today insert in our local Fort Myers paper and it isn't dated either. They want some stuff to be flexible so they can stick it anywhere they want. I don't take USA Today seriously, in any case.
You are right to cut ties -- these people appear to be ingrates and too quick to follow the lead of a negative member -- you deserve better than that. You might also canvas your existing and past students to generate a population for a new class elsewhere. Too bad you can't teach out of your home -- I am rooting for a connection with the new art shop.
Is the Art Guild the only "official" art supporter in the community? I know Tiffin is small -- but could you start a rival entity? Get support from like minds? It would serve them right if something you started out stripped them.
Really great looking bag. The only time I knit a sweater, a good (talented knitter) friend helped me through with a multi-colored yarn. It gave the impression that I really knew what I was doing. The sweater was a success and I've never done that again.
Brutal plus 90 days hanging on -- some respite in early morning. can't wait for the "cold" to set in. To think I moved down here for the heat. At least we got our new air conditioner installed last Thursday. It is running colder than our old one at the same setting. I am anticipating a lower bill because of its efficiency. The guys worked on installation for 12 hours -- the house heated up while they worked. I was a total wash-out. We ordered in.
love the dark brooding quality.
It's criminal that the propane company wants the homeowner to bear the cost of this disaster -- like they are not part of the population that should absorb any burden. I hope the law protects the homeowner in this case.
Hey, John, you're living the good life. Go, man. The ladies are a hoot.
My city version of your experience was not all that different (except, of course, for the chickens). We had no close relatives in the service, so did not suffer that dread of losing them, but, even as a child, I was much affected by our losses, and the newsreels highlighted the war. And these men were my heroes and when I was 24, I married one. To this day, he is my hero.
I would have a hard time saying no to a little bird looking for its feeder. My cleaning lady brought one of her birds with her today, a baby, that needs food every 4 hours. She put its cage in the spare bedroom and when it was time, fed it with a syringe. He gulped everything right down. Then she put the towel back over the cage.
Your remarks are well said but are not as furious as they might be. The misuse of faith is at the root of 90 percent of the evil in the world. Rachel Maddow has a blog and its most recent issue is the pervasive introduction of religious ritual into local government events. It is sickening.
I have several times received e mail from friends that they did not send. And a prominent journalist I was having a correspondence with e mailed me(it was a fraud) asking for money because he was stranded in Kenya. I called his home and his wife said they were already aware and were taking care of it. And I have also recently received more variations of the Nigerian scheme, one from a woman referencing God and what he wanted her to do was give me money and all I needed to do was provide bank info. I must confess I got carried away and replied to her saying that if God was on my side, I didn't need money.
It is sickening indeed that our freedoms have come to be permission to destroy us. But those American-born terrorists will find out what it is like to be in a 3rd world environment. I hope it wakes them up.
As I have often said, I don't use FAcebook for personal stuff, just political opinions, and to find friends from long ago. It is, I realize, as in the event of gathering info during catastrophes, a replacement for the early ham radio guys, one of whom was Jay. They communicated by Morse code when normal voice communication couldn't get through, and were valuable in facilitating rescues and the like. Ham radio of course is now outdated, but I think some still use it. But you had to have a license to do it, learn electronics, and also take a Morse code sending and receiving test. Times is changed.
I was on the phone with a very helpful Nikon tech who was telling me how to reduce pixels and it wouldn't work and he said I needed to update the program and to follow a link he would send me that, once downloaded, I could then follow his earlier instructions. But I couldn't answer all the download questions. I gave up.
I have often thought that if I had to move, just me, with only a modest income, I could live in a one-bedroom, but my piano would have to come too and that would take up the whole living room. It's 6 ft. 7 in. grand. I could keep the lid down and put a mattress on top. Yup, that would work.
