Impressive list -- you put us to shame. I am constantly saving geckos from Max (when I can get there fast enough). Alternatively I find gecko body parts in various parts of the house. If alive, they lie still, hoping you will think they are dead and go away. I put a Chinese plastic container over them and slide a thin piece of cardboard underneath. Thus contained, I carry them outside and let them go on the grass with a little sermon about how foolish they are to be hanging around our house.
Happy your area is recovering and hope you have a really good getaway. Maybe you can even sneak over to Vail for a look-see.
The bureaucrats rule ... it is ridiculous for them to harass disaster victims over ill-conceived regulations.
You're getting good advice already ... as for DH, he is a hero for absorbing all your yarn missions.
have to tell you I have a right-wing friend who I greet with a hug and a kiss and I say, "how's my favorite fascist?" and he replies, "I'm great. How's my favorite Bolshevik?"
Sorry, what was his MyBloggers name? I didn't have any contact with him. A few of you have my home phone and I would guess that one of you might call if I disappeared for a long time. And then get the news that I am toast. I'll try not to be toast for a long time. Hope this goes for all of you.
Yout rip sounds loverly.
Much as I love all kitties, I am feeling terrible for the chipmunks.
Hurrah for emerging ankles -- glad you are having a good time. Kisses to your extended family.
my store bought potatoes sprout in the secondary refrigerator we keep in the garage which is not air conditioned. Ed lives on potatoes. And meat. The potatoes in photo look great.
I am impressed with the person who thought up the color coding system because, so often, the simplest solutions evade the experts. The only time we should have evacuated (in 2004 when Charley came) we didn't. We were lucky. Just the thought of everything one has to remember to take makes me tired.
When the guys came to install our new air conditioner, they had to work in and out of the garage. I pointed at it and said, "for your information, guys, NONE of this stuff is mine). Meanwhile, I do clean out drawers from time to time but never get to all of them and soon, even the ones I cleaned out, have reverted. Can't keep up.
The world is getting scarier by the minute.
I visited Nova Scotia in the 60s. It was truly beautiful. Have a wonderful trip and don't forget Peggy's Cove. I hope it is still unspoiled.
How fortunate are those of us who have been on the sidelines and not immediately affected. But we ought all to be aware of the cost of endless violence. Obama is criticized for being cautious but I think he is being responsible. It was instant testosterone when Bush sent troops into Iraq on a lie. And this one act has derailed us in that region. It can't be fixed overnight, or, perhaps, ever.
