So good you had a great birthday. You are blessed with a wonderful family.
Some solutions that might work for you: Weigh yourself every morning, under same conditions: nude or clothed, before or after bathroom duty, but always the same, same scale. Write it down. Do nothing else. Biofeedback will take care of the rest if you have the right psychology for it. It worked for me. Lost 20 lbs. in 3 months. I ordered Flexacil from Amazon. It is for arthritis pain. Benefits kick in after about a month. I am on it for 2 weeks and notice some relief. A reviewer did an exhaustive study on remedies and I followed his advice. Good luck.
Our rainy (hurricane) season ends November 1. But this year we have had torrential rains through December and into spring. Elsewise, the traffic from snowbirds and day-trippers on our island is so bad, it can take you 45 minutes to travel what is normally a 10-minute trip in off-season. I find myself falling asleep at the wheel while crawling forward at a snail's pace with a line of cars that doesn't quit. Everyone should be gone by April 15. I can't wait.
Lovely. I like the textured sky.
I respect and admire Bernie Sanders and I also think that we won't go wrong with either him or Hillary, although I am for Hillary as I think she has more legislative abilities. Whoever succeeds, I am hoping that the base for Hillary and the base for Sanders will switch and support the nominee. I did that in 2008, when I put my full confidence in Barack Obama after Hillary did not get the nomination. It is just intelligent to fight the real enemy, not each other.
It is draining to care for an animal that is in distress. I am doing the same here for my friend, John. They are so forlorn when you leave.
I have seen several assisted living facilities when I've accompanied Ed on his rounds. Several are quite nice -- little kitchenette apartments where you can prepare your own meals, or you may choose to eat in the dining room. One in particular is on really beautiful grounds, woodsy and interesting. The buy-in is expensive but, and this is a big but, when/if your buy-in is used up, they keep you. They put you on Medicaid and that agency provides you $160 a month for incidental spending and your meals and living arrangements do not change.
So glad no one got hurt. The photo is impressive.
I used to do some planting and weeding, but the effort is now too strenuous for me. We got a guy to do routine law mowing and clipping of bushes, but the lawn looks awful. He says we have to have it re-sodded and quoted a high figure to do it. Sod King quoted half as much. But Ed is not considering it at all for now. Every time I pass our urns (full of weeds) I think I have to pull those out and plant something, but it doesn't happen.
Ed and I use Boost and buy minutes as we go, no contract. But Ed uses his minutes up quickly as he uses it for his guardian duties, and he would like something cheaper. I would love to have a phone that does stuff if I thought I'd learn how and retain the information. My friends are constantly touch flipping their phones to show me photos and I get e mails that say, "Sent from my iPhone" and I am envious.
I wonder if the ex wife was in on it. This is one of those situations where someone got what was coming to him. Also, it is very frustrating to be taken in by someone who presents a clean-cut picture and he's a thief.
Re. yams/sweet potatoes, you can wrap one in a paper towel, rinsed but unpeeled, and microwave it on high from 4 to 10 minutes, depending on how large it is. It cooks fine and is ready to eat. You can easily discard peel after it is cooked. Microwave the beets without peeling as well, to see if it works for them.
Beautifully done.
Happy birthday, Martin. Wish I could be there.
So sorry about your continuing eye problem. And very distressed to learn Rex is ailing. Hugs to him. But it is good you can return to doing some things. Keep us in the loop.
