I took the Hyundai in to the shop for an oil change, and to have the tire senser checked since it was always on, and to find out why the engine light is on, and to ask them to please put fluid into the windshield wiper thingy (that’s the official name), and sat down with a magazine to wait. I then was informed that two of the tires are totally shot, no air, and I shouldn’t be driving on them. I had noticed that the ride was not smooth. Now I know why. They ordered two new tires to be delivered tomorrow, said I shouldn’t drive home, they would give me a lift. But an old acquaintance was in the shop, going my way and she drove me home. We caught up on stuff.
So I was car-less. I had promised John that if he needed a ride to the hospital that I would take him, so I was relieved to have him tell me that he is feeling better and wouldn’t need a ride after all. However later in the afternoon his internal defibrillator went off, knocked him out, and he hit his head when he fell. He had been doing a lot of laundry and thinks he over-tired himself. Buster kept him company on the kitchen floor until he came to. He called me and I went over and walked Buster for him. He’s in touch with his medical people to find out what is going on.
Being without a car for the afternoon left me with at home chores. I considered changing the bedding, filing paper stuff, doing a load of laundry, uploading the iPod stuff my bff, Nadine, recovered for me since my playlists have disappeared, working on some piano stuff. I thought so hard that I got sleepy and took a nap instead.
The other thing to be done, and this waits on Ed, the I'll-do-it-myself-why-pay-a-plumber guy, is to fix the flushing mechanism in the toilet connected to the spare bedroom. Having two bathrooms is a must in my life. I have a deadline. So he has to get to Home Depot or Lowe’s, buy the stuff and do his plumber’s thing.
Also, I have to change the registration on this computer. It is still registered to Ed, even though I was able to change the sign-in screen to my photo and password. But, guess what? When I needed to use his computer one day, my picture had replaced his on that computer as well. So, obviously, this is a universal command that is still acting as if both computers have one owner.
It’s always sumpin’.
