Another Loss
Here is an obit for an old friend with whom I had lost touch. I came across a note of names to remember and Googled her and got her obit, which just was to be expected since she was a good deal older. Here it is in part.

Obituary
Age 94, died December 18, 2010 at Rockland Place in Wilmington.
For 22 years, she was employed as a journalist in the United Nations. She would cover U.N. meetings for "The Monthly Chronicle," the United Nations official publication. She met dignitaries from all over the world. Previous to the United Nations, she worked in England for the United Press during the bombing of London in WWII.
What is not mentioned is that she parachuted behind enemy lines in Europe for the UP, covered the story, and got out. She was a hero of mine.
We used to have lunch in her later years. I don’t know why we lost touch. Self-involved twit that I am, I just forgot about her. Or maybe it was because I was entering those years when all I could think of was helping Jay. Some of my past remains a blur, living for the moment because it grabbed all of my attention, and then wondering where the years went.
